'Bizzo At The Beach' - Business Owners Invite From Go Waihi's Brian Gentil

Wednesday 3 August, 2011

TIME: 5 pm onwards

"Let's go surfing now, everybody's learning how, come on everybody with me". Oh the summery music of the Beach Boys. Sorry I digress.

What I meant to mention is the Waihi Beach Surf Life Saving Club has got bigger, and taller, and added things you probably aren't aware of. Sooooo, let's go have a look-see for ourselves eh?! It's time for our August Business After 5 Meeting this coming Wednesday (the 3rd) and that's where we're heading.

To be honest, we'll be given a guided tour of the new surrounds of the surf club, and also get to hear of their future plans, and they're very interesting. Check out the view from the 'turret'. Become a member and enjoy their new facilities. Take a stroll along the beach before or afterwards and get some sand between your toes ... now there's a challenge.

HDC Economic Development Officer Chris Hale will be giving us an update on how the economy is looking regionally, and locally too. Any interest in businesses coming to town? How are we fairing at the tail end of the 'reces, recessi, ... downturn? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel, should we turn it off to save power, and if we did would there be a reduction in our bill anyway - and does that include GST and the general increase in the cost of living?

Then there's an update on Goldfest and one or two other things to talk about.

And of course we get to catch up with each other for an hour or so, and how often do we get to do that? I know, once a month at the BA5's, but you're just being clever.

Hey, if you get there in time you could watch the sunset, and if you stay long enough, you could see the sun rise!!

If you're a business owner or manager, please let me know if you can make it or not so I can let the surf club know how many life jackets to have at the ready.

Email me back, or ring 863 3030 and there's another job completed off your 'bucket list'.

Hoping to catch up with you this coming Wednesday just after 5 at the north end of Waihi Beach.

Remember the polar plunge is on next Sunday, so this would be an ideal time for you to have a practice run, literally.

Cheers

Brian Gentil
