Police are appealing for information after a 25 year old Paeroa man was stabbed in Paeroa this morning.
The man and his 20 year old sister were walking through a park by the rotunda when they got into an argument with a group of people. They were followed to the corner of Railway Rd and George St where the stabbing then occured. The 25-year-old Paeroa man has been airlifted to an Auckland hospital in a critical condition after being stabbed three times by an unknown weapon.
The man's sister was also punched during the attack. The siblings made their way to a George St address where an ambulance was called and the man was airlifted to Auckland hospital at about 2.20 am in a critical condition. He was stabbed 3 times and is very lucky to have survived the attack.
The rescue helicopter picked the man up at about 2.20 am.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information on who the offenders are to contact Detective Glenn Ewing at Waihi Police Station on (07) 863 8179 or alternatively leave information anonymously on the CrimeStoppers crime line, 0800 555111
