Helen Clark's Mother Passes Away

Margaret Helen Clark, the mother of former Prime Minister Helen Clark, passed away in Tauranga Hospital today. The Irish born 87 year old retired teacher, who'd been ill for some weeks with pnuemonia, is survived by her husband George and four daughters.

Helen Clark, who works for the United Nations in New York has been visiting with her family for the last two or three weeks and was with her mother when she died.

Margaret Clark's funeral will take place in Waihi on Monday.
