Mike Hill Photography Puts A New Slant On 'A Box Around The Ears'

We were intrigued when we heard some of the students who attended the Waihi College Ball talking about the 'Box', so we did a little detective work, and found out Mike Hill Photographer was the 'culprit'. When we asked him how it came about, he told us 'The Story of The Box'.

On a trip to Melbourne with the obligatory spot of retail therapy, Mike's partner Andrea saw something similar being used. They decided to twist the idea and hey presto, 'The Box' was born. A builder put it together and after a professional paint job, and a bit of time in storage (boxes are good at that), the Waihi College Ball rolled around, and when Mike (who was tasked with the job of image maker) asked ball co organiser Thai, would he like him to bring along his box, the willingness to try something different meant 'The Box' was dusted off, and put to use.

Mike says he may have to invest in a tow bar and trailer, because in the past week he's had enquiries for 'The Box' to make repeat appearances in photo shoots and a wedding as well.

He said "I s'pose it is in a way about self expression and having some fun as well, its a good ice breaker to be silly"
