Waikato Police investigating Monday's death of a pedestrian on the outskirts of Waihi are appealing for witnesses or drivers using the road around the time of the crash.
Sergeant Dave Litton of the Waihi Police said William Povi STOCK, a 53-year-old local man, died from injuries suffered after being struck by a south-bound Hyundai car on SH2/ Tauranga Rd about 7.40pm.
"The incident happened on a 100km/h stretch of road near the intersection with Baxter Rd, while we have spoken to the female driver of the car and another woman who was at the scene at the time we are seeking witness or other motorists using the road around that time.
"Anyone with any information on the incident who hasn't already spoken to Police is asked to contact Constable Harley North at the Waihi Police Station on (07)863 8179.
