  • Waihi Police searching a property with a 'Drugs Warrant' found drugs, but also uplifted 3 firearms from the same address.
  • An SPCA ute which was stolen was found within a few minutes of it being reported missing by Sergeant Dave Litton on the Gold FM Breakfast Show on May the 24th. A listener who heard the report as he was driving detoured to the studios to let the Police know where the vehicle was located.
  • Police are asking motorists to drive to the conditions. With foggy conditions the use of headlights is recommended.
  • Sergeant Dave Litton ending up taking an unexpected dip at Waihi Beach after a four wheel drive vehicle got stuck in soft sand in front of Brewer Park. The occupants of the car left on foot after the mishap in the early hours of Tuesday morning. It was necessary for the Police to ascertain whether there was anyone in the car because the incident had not been reported by the 22 year old Cambridge man who drove the car (owned by his father0 onto the beach.
