Two In Critical Condition After Head On

Two men are in a critical condition after a head on collision on Athenree Rd just after 5 pm on Saturday night. Each man was the sole occupant of their car.
One man was driving a BMW Sedan and the other was driving a Ford Laser. Both men were airlifted to Auckland Hospital by helicopter .
One man is from Waihi and the other is from Waihi Beach.
Sergeant Dave Litton of the Waihi Police said the cars are absolutely wrecked and alcohol and speed were not apparent in the crash, but it looked like one of the vehicles was on the wrong side of the road when the accident occured.
The names of the injured men are Craig Sefton and Dominic Johns.
