Waihi Beach Coastguard Urges Caution Crossing Bar

The Waihi Beach Coastguard service is advising boaties that the bar has changed considerably and the special mark buoy midway is no longer there. They recommend not using the special marker as a navigational aid and caution that your existing GPS marks may not be correct due to the change of the channel, and to cross the bar carefully.
