Waihi born pro cyclist Julian Dean has become the second Kiwi to win a stage in the Tour de France.
After achieving the best results for a Kiwi in Tour De France history last year, Dean surpassed even himself on the 4th of July by helping his team Garmin Cervelo to pull off the best time in the team trial in France.
Dean's Garmin-Cervelo team beat Team Sky, BMC Racing and Team Leopard-Trek by four seconds and team mate, Norwegian Thor Hushovd says 'he's proud to be at the Tour De France and to now pull on yellow is an incredible feeling with 36 year old Julian Dean reiterating that both riders and management are overjoyed by the result.
