A car that had been left outside the Rugby Club on Kenny Street was broken into in the wee small hours of Sunday the 11th of September and Police are asking for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to cast their minds back in case they remember seeing something out of the ordinary outside the Rugby Club.
The residence next door to the Catholic Church was broken into last Friday night. The intruders ripped the security alarm off the wall to help them to gain access to the building. Police have uplifted finger prints from the break-in and have noted with interest that St Vincent de Paul's Catholic Food Bank was broken into a night or so previously.
A brand new business to town has had a bit of a rude welcome to Waihi with someone attempting to jemmy the lock at Envy Gifts next to the Post Shop on Rosemont Road. If you noticed anything have a chat with the Waihi Police.
On the 17th of September a utility building and caravan on a section at Longbeach Road, Waihi Beach were broken into. The break in happened at about 1 pm in the afternoon so anybody in the area who saw anything suspicious is encouraged to get in touch with the Police.
Visitors from Te Awamutu had a bit of a surprise waiting for them when they launched their boat off the North End of Waihi Beach and went fishing for a couple of hours on the 18th of September. The left their car and boat trailer on the beach and arrived back to find their vehicle submerged.
