Late Friday night or early Saturday morning a car was broken into in Princes St Waihi and a wallet and personal items were taken.
Sometime between the 1st and 3rd of July thieves stole meat from a freezer at a house in Maddocks St.
If you know anything about either of these incidents please contact the Waihi Police on 863 8179.
A party held on Saturday night hit a sour note when uninvited guests who had consumed too much alcohol caused trouble. The party was held in an industrial building on Consols St and although adult supervision was in place a window was smashed and a fight took place so police were called to disperse the party goers.
At around the same time a male driver who was reportedly two times over the drink driving limit lost control of his car and crashed his vehicle into a power pole that had a transformer attached to it, resulting in a power cut to homes at Waihi Beach. Power wasn't restored until 3 pm and one section of the beach residences had to wait until approximately 5 pm for their power to resume.
