Waihi's Got Talent Alright!

The Waihi Beach Memorial RSA was packed on Saturday night for the Waihi's Got Talent Final.
Judges, singer / song writer Shona Laing, Go Waihi Chair Karen Dodd and Gold FM's Aaron Seymour had a bit of a task deciding who to give the nod to.
There were three categories, junior, intermediate and senior, with a $1000 prize for a school project awarded to each category winner, as well as a $200 personal prize for each section.
The winning acts were:
- Junior * Hell Yeah! ... a three piece band with Jayke Hopa on guitar and vocals, Lucas Barakat on keyboards and Jack Schuler on drums.
- Intermediate * Renee Claxton singing, accompanied by * Bryn Cotton - Tait
- Senior - * Asterisk * James Rotohiko & * Hayden Silberer ... Street Dancers
