Waihi Volunteer Fire Service Chief Moe Stevens reported in on what the local fire service has attended to in the past week. A car ran off the road into a ditch on the way to Whangamata, a car in a garage caught on fire at Waihi Beach, they've been getting calls about smoke coming from trees on Union Hill, which is the underground mine vent, and the alarm went off at the Waihi Playcentre on Consols Street.
