Sergeant Dave Litton was due in the studio this morning to update us on Waihi Police news but he was called out to an emergency at Waihi Beach. Two surfers got into trouble and needed some assistance.

He said it's important that people remember to be aware of the conditions.

The Surf club performed four rescues within the last twenty four hours.
