Waihi Police Senior Sergeant Rex Knight brought us up to date with what's been happening over the past week.
He described it as "a week of mop-ups". An arrest was made in connection to a car stolen from Anzac Bay and number plates that had been taken that we reported on last week. A man was taken into custody after police followed a vehicle he was driving from Whitianga to Whiritoa.
A scrap metal thief got himself in a 'sticky situation' literally, when his vehicle and trailer got stuck on a farmer's paddock. He'd decided to pinch some scrap metal from the property and hopefully he's now pinching himself for his stupidity, because he got caught.
Stolen goods and 3 Subaru cars were recovered from an Adams Street address, and the man who broke into the Professionals Real Estate office on Rosemont Rd last week was also apprehended.
