Contractors are currently repairing a hole on State Highway 25, Coromandel, near the northern exit from Thames township.
The NZ Transport Agency State Highway Manager, Waikato/Bay of Plenty, Kaye Clark, says the hole is about 2 metres deep and 1.5 metres across. Mrs Clark says a single lane detour in place is not expected to cause significant delays for motorists and NZTA expects the hole to be filled and the road reopened to two lanes again later this afternoon.
