The Waihi Netball Association is hosting a Waikato Thames Valley Netball Tournament this Sunday at the netball courts on Kenny Street.
Waihi President Jennifer Chappell said "it's going to be a very busy time for some of us". Volunteers will be manning the canteen and keeping everybody fed and hydrated. There will be plenty of people to look after, including the supporters who will be travelling to Waihi with the teams.
Altogether 32 teams of Years 6, 7 and 8 girls will be playing a minimum of 3 games each with the winners from each round going forward to the finals.
Putaruru, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Matamata, Paeroa, Thames, and Waihi will all be represented at the tournament.Waihi have 6 teams competing.
The games start at 9 am and consist of 2 halves with 8 minutes per half. The finals are due to start at 3 pm followed by a prize giving. The winning teams will be taking home gold medals.
