Amy Winehouse Found Dead

At just 27 years of age Amy Winehouse has tragically been found dead at her North London home. Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing into the death of a  27 year old female at her address. They have cordoned off her street and the usual gaggle of reporters and onlookers have arrived to take up residence outside her home.

It wasn't that long ago that Amy Winehouse did another stint in rehab and was pronounced to be well on the road to recovery. Unfortunately after wowing a small audience in her first live concert since January recently, she then went on to wow another crowd in Serbia a couple of weeks later with her erratic behaviour, when she could hardly stand up and talk, let alone sing.

Amy was born on the 14th of September 1983 to Jewish parents. She inherited her love of music from her dad and it's known that her teachers would become quite frustrated with her loud singing at school when she was very young. Her unusual voice stood out and she was writing music from an early age.

She became a sensation after the release of the single  'Rehab' and her Back To Black album. Always the non conformist, Amy was a straight talker who told it like it is and couldn't cope with the trappings of stardom and the restrictions it placed on her.

Singers like Duffy, Lady Gaga, Adele, and others are a by product of Amy's success. She launched the style and others followed and succeeded.

A cocktail of drugs, alcohol and adrenaline fueled her life and this is the result. At just 27 years old she still had so much she could have achieved. Now we'll never know. All we can do is wonder and remember her star while it shone.
