Bands Line Up For Final Battle At Waihi Beach Pub

The Waihi Beach Hotel 2011 Battle of the Bands competition has been a phenomenal success and even the heavy rain of last night could not dampen the enthusiasm of the bands or the audience. The winner of the final heat was Hurricane Tilly from Mt Maunganui, with Zifire from Hamilton a close second.

The line up for the grand final next week (Thursday December 22nd) is as follows:

• Out of Time (Hamilton)

• Enercia (Tauranga)

• Hurricane Tilly (Mt Maunganui/Te Puke)

• Devilskin (Hamilton)

• Twisted Daisies (Waihi)

• Copious Ail (Rotorua)

The winner of the Battle will receive a $2,000 cash prize as well as the opportunity to open the New Years Eve gig in the big top featuring Dave Dobbyn, Midnight Youth and Dukes.

Doors open on Finals night at 7pm with local youngsters Hell Yeah (all under 12) making a special guest appearance.
