Monday 11 March
An attempted burglary occurred at commercial premises at Seddon Street overnight. A male offender was captured on CCTV trying to force entry. He was unsuccessful. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and can be seen on camera using a torch. This occurred about 2:50 am. Other pedestrians and vehicles can be seen moving about the area at the time. Waihi Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious.

Tuesday 12 March
A 17 year old Waihi male was arrested for driving whilst disqualified after he was stopped when riding a motorcycle at Waihi. He has been charged and will be appearing in Court. His motorcycle was impounded for 28 days.

Wednesday 13 March
A burglary of a residential house build site at Savage Road is being investigated. Building materials were stolen including paint, pink batts, roof netting and sealant. If anyone has information please contact Waihi Police.

A second attempted burglary under similar circumstances at another commercial premises on Seddon Street happened the same night. An attempted forced entry was unsuccessful, Believed to have occurred around the same time in the early hours of Monday 12 March, Police would like to hear from anyone who can help with information.

A shed burglary of a residential property at Mackay Street also occurred on Wednesday March 13. A 25 litre fuel container, oil and a pocket knife were stolen. If anyone has information please contact Waihi Police.

Burglary of a residential property at Mayor View Terrace, Waihi Beach. Palm trees stolen from the property. If anyone has information please contact Waihi Police.

Thursday 14 March
A 47 year old Waihi female was arrested for breach of bail at a Waitete Road address. Police were called after the female allegedly threatened other people and was refusing to leave after being trespassed from the property. She resisted arrest and was held in custody to appear at Court in Hamilton the following day.

Friday 15 March
Eastern Waikato Police staff executed a search warrant at a Marina Way, Athenree address. The search revealed evidence of illegal drugs. A 23 year old female was given a warning for cultivating cannabis and possession of drug utensils.

Burglary continues to be a problem for Waihi and Waihi Beach. Report all suspicious behaviour by calling police on 111 immediately, don’t delay reporting. Police need your information, let them know what’s going on.
