Today is Edmond Leahy’s last day in the job. He’s resigned as CEO of Thames Valley Rugby Football Union and we wish him all the best for the future. Edmond covered the Thames Valley games across the weekend starting with the
H G Leach Cup Senior B’s. Then he and Brian Gentil turned their attention to the Senior A Tom Jordan Cup games.
The discussion then moved on to the Super Rugby semi-finals featuring the Jaguares at home against the Brumbies on Saturday morning (NZ time), and the Crusaders hosting the Hurricanes on Saturday night.
They also talked about T J Perenara becoming the most capped Hurricanes player tomorrow when he appears for the 127th time, and the news that Colin Cooper has resigned as coach of the Chiefs.
Brian thanked Edmond for his input over the years and wished him well for the future. It has been a real pleasure to have Edmond’s input through the years and we will miss his comments that were regularly gleaned from the sideline of the games he attended each week. He has had a successful time in his job, quietly doing everything required to make sure rugby in the region runs smoothly. He was also at the helm when Thames Valley won the Heartland Competition last year and was a strong voice for everything Thames Valley rugby stands for. All the best Edmond and keep in touch.
