Brian Gentil chatted with Emma Woods from Envirohub about the Sustainable Blue Backyard, a family friendly free event happening at Waihi Beach this Sunday between 10 am and 1 pm.
The MetService is predicting a sunny weekend for most places, as high pressure dominates the weather for New Zealand, so get the family together and enjoy a day at the beach.
Envirohub has teamed up with DoC and other groups to celebrate Conservation Week and promises a whole lot of fun at the North End of Waihi Beach near the surf life saving club.
A Sand Sculpture Competition (with prizes) is just one of the activities happening.
The University of Waikato Coastal Marine Station, Scion, Waihi Beach Environment Society, Coastcare Bay of Plenty and Predator Free Waihi Beach will be joining in the fun with displays and activities and Harcourts Gold Star Real Estate has donated $500 towards prizes.
