Hauraki District Mayor Toby Adams has been very busy today.
His morning started early after the news a water main had burst in Waihi yesterday.
Council water services crew have also been working very hard to fix not one but then two separate water main ruptures.
Communication has played an important role in keeping Waihi residents updated and informed about any changes as events have progressed today.
Gold FM Breakfast Announcer Brian Gentil, a Hauraki District Councillor, started early too with his on air shift and then it was off to Paeroa to a council meeting where the water situation was top of the agenda.
Mayor Toby has been fielding questions from the media, working with council heads of department and staff, then handing out drinking water in bottles to the Waihi public outside the Salvation Army Hall in Seddon Street this afternoon.
Brian managed to wrangle Toby into the studio for a catch-up on the Waihi water situation now and into the future.
