Marcus Howie, the Rugby Development Officer with Thames Valley Rugby Football Union, started with Brian Gentil with an invitation to women to join their Women’s Rugby Development Officer for a muster at Waihi Rugby grounds in Kenny St this afternoon at 6 pm.

Any women, any age and from anywhere can join them to hear what they have planned for the season and to have a bit of a run as well, with a cool drink afterwards. Take your training gear.

Then it was on to Round 3 of the Super Rugby with some good matchups again this weekend. The Blues have the home ground advantage against the Crusaders, who are coming off a loss against the Chiefs last week.

The Chiefs themselves with two from two, are in Japan taking on the Sunwolves, and would like to make it three in a row.

The Hurricanes are at home playing the Sharks, who Marcus thinks might have the upper hand, while the Brumbies also have the home ground advantage when they come up against the Highlanders.

Marcus and Brian also talked about Aaron Cruden, and Ian coach Foster’s thoughts of including him in the All Blacks mix this year.

And they commented on the World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments in Hong Kong and Singapore which have both been postponed from April through until about October, due to the coronavirus scare.
