Brian Gentil was joined in the Gold FM studio by Lucy James and Simon Elson to talk about the Open Day happening at the Boyd Road Theatre this Sunday.
Scene setting has been going on with three sets being put together on stage for people to get in amongst at the Open Day and see what goes on behind the scenes.
Visitors will be able to find out how the scenes are put together and put themselves in the action by dressing up and taking a snapshot of the occasion if they want to.
Lucy said Simon is underselling himself as the sets are amazing and he has done a wonderful job of putting them together.”You need to come and see it,” she said, describing the sets and saying the whole family will enjoy dressing up and promising, “you won’t be bored.”
A sausage sizzle will keep the hunger pangs at bay while you’re at the Open Day for just a gold coin and towards the end of the day a skit will take to the stage that everyone is welcome to join in.
Simon said anyone interested will be able to have a play with the sound and lighting boards as well.
People are welcome to join the Waihi Drama Society team, whether they are interested in on stage or back stage, there are plenty of things to be done and a whole lot of fun to be had at the Boyd Road Theatre this Sunday, March 22nd between 2 and 4 pm.
Young children need to be accompanied by an adult.
