A message from countdown Managing Director Natalie Davis to all customers
Limits on products in store and reduced trading hours
Today (Friday, 20 March) we’ve made the decision to place a temporary limit of two similar items per customer shopping visit across our store and online shopping service, with the exception of Produce & Serviced Deli. All Countdown stores will close at 9pm today (Friday).
This means at any one time, whether online or in-store, customers will only be able to buy a maximum of two packs of toilet paper, two packs of mince, two packets of chicken, two loaves of bread, two cans of baked beans, two tins of baby formula etc.
From tomorrow (Saturday, 21 March), we are also changing all our store hours and online shopping services to trade from 9am to 8pm across the country.
We realise this may be frustrating or inconvenient for some customers but we have to provide our teams with the time and ability to get as much product on shelf as possible during this time of extraordinary and unprecedented demand.
We have plenty of food in our supply chain, however we have to get it through the network.
You can help by only buying what you need. Be kind, consider others and consider what you’ve got in your pantry already.
We thank customers for their continued patience and support as together we work through these challenging times together.
To help look after our customers and team we have moved to a Contactless doorstep delivery service.
You’ll get a text message letting you know when we’re on our way
Our driver will knock on your door and then leave the groceries on your doorstep. If there is a specific place you’d like your groceries left please tell us in the Delivery Instructions field in checkout.
You’ll get another text message after we leave to let you know we’ve delivered
