Jess Harris Manager of the Waihi Beach RSA reported in for a catch up with Brian Gentil.
This year an ANZAC Day like no other is happening all over New Zealand.
The Waihi Beach RSA is organising a commemoration for their community.
The flag at the Waihi Beach RSA will be lowered to half mast at 6 am when the Waihi Beach and Athenree fire alarms will go off to signal it’s time for those who want to Stand At Dawn to mark ANZAC Day.
A bugler will stand at the Waihi Beach RSA and play the Last Post which will be sent out around the community via loud speakers at the Waihi Beach RSA.
Because there was no Poppy Day this year Jess said the Waihi Beach RSA established a givealittle page so that people can still show their support for veterans and members by giving a little in lieu of buying a poppy.
Waihi Beach RSA also have a make you own poppy competition. Email your poppies through to Jess via firstname.lastname@example.org to be in to win a $100 voucher for First Place and $30 voucher for Second when the Waihi Beach RSA reopens.
Jess has already received some great creations so have some fun!
$2,600 is in the kitty for the Member’s Draw reopening too.
