Paeroa Refuse Transfer station is now open for business with some Covid-19 protocols in place.

The Waihi Transfer Station remains closed while it undergoes some major improvements to the concrete surfaces and the scrap metal area, so they continue to have a skip and glass bins available every Thursday from 12:30-4pm only.

Covid-19 protocols for Paeroa Transfer station under Level 3:

Eftpos only, no cash sales; one in, one out traffic control with maximum of 15 minutes on site, some ID will be required for track and trace purposes.

Rubbish including recycling, still has to go to Landfill during Level 3. There’s no cost for rubbish or recycling that is in pre-paid yellow bags, but all other bags will be charged at the usual disposal fee. Scrap metal and green waste can be accepted. All glass goes into the bottle bank (available daily at the gate). Remember to double bag if someone in your household is sick. Only outer bag needs to be a pre-paid yellow bag.
