Brian Gentil spoke with Thames Coromandel Mayor Sandra Goudie to find out how she’s feeling about the latest COVID-19 news.
There’s plenty to celebrate on the Coromandel with the announcement New Zealand has moved to Alert Level 1, allowing more freedom across the country.
The official opening of the upgraded Whangamata skate park is on-site at 10am Saturday, 20 June and everyone is invited, Mayor Sandra said.
It’s hoped the upgrade will put the Whangamata back on the skating destination map.
A big announcement is coming later later today with Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters in Thames and being hosted for lunch. Mayor Sandra said it will be fabulous to have him here. I call him the Mohammed Ali of politics, she commented.
It will be a game changer for the Coromandel economy and more employment opportunities in the long run.
Brian asked about the 60 second sell - a challenge for the young people of the Coromandel and a reason to give the Coromandel a promotion boost
