Tuesday 16 June
Two Waihi youths were arrested when they refused their details after allegedly smashing a window at a Seddon Street business. They were later released to their parent.
Wednesday 17 June
A non-injury minor traffic crash at Beach Road. Car versus van. The van crashed into the rear of the car after it made a sudden stop to avoid a dog.
Police attended a family harm incident at Leo Street. A Waihi Beach male was arrested for assault and breaching a protection order. He was charged and held in custody overnight.
Thursday 18 June
A Paeroa male was arrested on warrants after he was found in the back of a vehicle during a traffic stop at Normanby Road.
Friday 19 June
A roll of brush-stick fencing was stolen from Waihi Water Lily Gardens at Pukekauri Road and grey Masport wood splitter was stolen in a burglary of a Galbraith Street residence. Contact Police if you have any information.
Police attended a family harm incident at The Crescent and a Tauranga woman was arrested for disorderly behaviour. During the arrest she resisted police and assaulted a family member. She has been charged.
Police served a police safety order on a Waihi man at a Mangatoetoe Street address separating both parties for four days.
Saturday 20 June
A report of six Jersey cows stolen from a paddock at SH2 Athenree.
Sunday 21 June
A single vehicle non-injury traffic crash at SH25 Whiritoa Hill. The vehicle went over a bank and driver fled the scene however was located nearby. She failed alcohol breath test procedures with a result of 600 micrograms of alcohol.
Another single vehicle non-injury traffic crash at SH2 Karangahake Gorge. A vehicle spun out of control and crashed into a bank trapping the driver. The driver will be prosecuted for failing to drive to the conditions.
A vehicle failed to stop for police at Waihi and a pursuit followed. The driver was eventually stopped and arrested however he resisted police and was subdued with pepper spray. A significant amount of Cannabis was found inside his vehicle.
A motorcycle fled from police into bush at Morgan Park. The motorcycle was found hidden and seized by police. The driver fled from the scene. Police spoke to a suspicious male nearby and are waiting on forensic test results.

Criminals are out there operating and you could be their next target. If you want to do something about crime in your community consider establishing a neighbourhood support group on your street and joining your local Community Patrol. There are patrols in Paeroa, Waihi, Whangamata and Waihi Beach. The more community members we get involved the better we can keep our communities safe together.
