Hauraki District Mayor Toby Adams talked with Brian Gentil today.
First up they looked at the reintroduced Development Contributions Policy that kicks in on July 1 this year.
Covid-19 has overshadowed the worst drought in several decades across a lot of the country, including the Hauraki District.
Mayor Toby gave an outline of the Mayoral Drought Relief Fund that’s available to local farmers; check the HDC website for details.
Brian asked the Mayor to run over the recycling changes with plastics 3 to 7 no longer accepted for recycling and what happens if you contaminate your wheelie bin.
Ngatea’s road and footpath upgrade is getting closer to being completed with some concrete hopefully being poured today, “if the sun keeps shining” the Mayor said.
Brian and Mayor Toby talked about the weather conditions and how the Hauraki district has got off fairly lightly considering the wet, windy weather recently.
