Rugby Development Officer Scott Day reported in for Thames Valley Rugby Football Union on the Gold FM Rugby Report with Harcourts Gold Star.

Scotty ran through a full list of games being played this weekend. There’s no junior rugby after the call was made with Alert Level 2 in place for Covid-19, to end the competition last weekend.

There’s plenty of serious senior rugby this weekend with playoffs and finals being played in the H G Leach Club Competition, all at Waihi Atheletic Rugby Club’s grounds in Kenny St, Waihi. Unfortunately these are all ‘behind closed doors’, due to Alert Level 2 restrictions of a maximum of 100 people in a gathering meaning no spectators. They will be live-streaming the games though, and we’ll have all the action on Monday morning with our Rugby Report at 8.15 am on Gold FM.

At 11 am Waihau plays Waihi for the Patron Cup

Then at 1 pm Coromandel and Tairua play off for the H G Lawrence Cup.

And Cobras and Whangamata take the field at 3 pm with the McGlinchy Cup going to one of the sides trophy cabinet at the end of the game.

Good luck to all the teams playing this weekend from the team at Gold FM.
