Brent Willoughby called in to talk scores, not the one he got on the golf course yesterday - which he avoided, the ones on the football field.

Brent went through the junior games, their locations and times and reminded players to remember their shin pads. Both boys and girls have games, some away and others at home, so if you want to cheer them on head to Waihi College grounds … and remember to allow a bit of social distance between you and the other spectators.

The Waihi College First XI is doing well with some good wins recently and is heading to the Thames Valley Champs Brent said.

The Waihi Association Football Club Men’s Senior side have a home game and are playing at Waihi College tomorrow too, against a side they drew 1 - 1 with in the first round, West Hamilton United.  Brian said he thinks this could be their weekend, as long as they play the full 90 minutes.

Wellington Phoenix news was next with Brian and Brent, with several players doing well with awards and also being named in this season’s Players Team, chosen by the players in the A-League themselves.Lionel Messi says he wants to change clubs according to Brent, but there’s a price to pay if you’re keen to take him on.

Brian asked Brent if Lionel was likely to make an appearance for Waihi soon, and got a reminder of his transfer fee from Brent.

They wrapped up the report with a look at the Champions League final played last Monday morning.

Brent will be back on Monday morning just after 25 to 7 with a review of the weekend’s play, from the local scene to all over the world.
