Council Matters ,
Thames Councillor Robyn Sinclair joined Brian Gentil to talk about her super busy district these school holidays.
Firstly Brian got Robyn to explain the family fun they were having making and flying paper planes so early in the morning.
Then he asked Robyn about all the road resealing happening at the moment. She said Council has to do this work every year ahead of the peak summer season, hopefully before Labour Weekend when we start to get influx of more traffic.
“We’re letting people know with messages each day through all our council communications channels … including daily updates on Gold FM,” she said.
Brian got Robyn to explain the work going on with the transport Investment Plan, investigating opportunities to stimulate productivity and grow the local economy. After several workshops they’re busy collating a lot of information in a long list and funding opportunities.
There are a lot of consultations on at the moment and Robyn explained more on this and encouraged people to get involved and give them feedback as that will help council heading towards the Long Term Plan next year.
Brian and Robyn ended with a reminder the meeting agendas and recordings are available on the website - www.tcdc.govt.nz and it’s a good place for more council information too.
