Brian Gentil spoke with Brent Willoughby from Waihi Association Football Club on the Gold FM Football Report with Carters Contractors on Monday morning about the UEFA Nations League games being played at the moment, with the big news that Denmark beat England 1 - 0, which has opened up that group. Scotland, Wales and Belgium all had wins, while Germany and Switzerland played out a 3 all draw.
Brent and Brian then focused on the English Premier League games, Brian noting that both Tottenham, coming off a 6 - 1 win, and Liverpool off a 7 - 2 loss last outing, had draws. Brent mentioned there were about 6 draws this round, which is quite a high number.
Liverpool and Everton drew 2 all and Tottenham and West Ham played out a 3 all draw.
Chelsea and Southampton 3 all, Sheffield United and Fulham and Crystal Palace and Brighton had 1 all draws.
Leicester City and Aston Villa were drawing nil all at half time during the Football Report.
Brian and Brent then checked out the Waihi Association Football Club two day Labour Weekend Tournament this coming weekend with a call for some players to help make up another team after Thames had to pull out due to lack of players. Contact Brent Willoughby, or us, for more details.
There’ll be two days of shorter round robin games and it’s always good fun. It’s great spectator sport too, with sausage sizzle sideline which is always popular. Games start at 9 am Saturday and slightly later Sunday morning, at Waihi College grounds on Rata St.
