Powerco says a series of planned power outages in and around Waihi in the coming weeks is part of a routine programme of work to ensure the electricity network remains safe and reliable.
More outages in Waihi are planned for today, October 22 - 23, 28 and 29 October. There are also planned outages happening in November.
Powerco Network Operations Manager Karen Frew thanks Waihi customers for their understanding during the planned outages, staggered at varying times during the month.
“We know that there is never really a convenient time for an outage, so thank you for your patience and understanding while we carry out this work on your local power lines, poles and other electrical equipment.
Electricity retailers (the company people pay their power bill to) notify customers of planned outages that will affect them.”
