On the Gold FM Rugby Report with Harcourts Gold Star Brian started by asking Scott Day, the Thames Valley RFU Rugby Development Officer, about what he did on Wednesday night.
Scott said he held the last of their Coaches and Managers Courses in Whitianga, and they also had a good turnout of 20 or so attend their Referees Course held in Thames too.
Brian and Scott touched on the local Thames Valley Rugby Competition starting next weekend, with the draws for Senior A and B draws finally out on Wednesday night.
Scott also said they were looking forward to seeing all the younger rugby players out on the fields with Junior Rugby underway from next week too.
Brian and Scott looked at the two Super Rugby Aotearoa games this weekend; the Crusaders playing their neighbours the Highlanders on Friday night in Christchurch in a local derby kicking off at 7.05 pm, and Saturday night at the same time the Blues host the Hurricanes in another great game. The Chiefs get the long Easter Weekend off with a bye this week.
Brian asked Scott for his thoughts on the $465 million deal that could be on the cards for New Zealand Rugby, with the Players Association sending a firm letter to NZR sharing their thoughts.
And Scott and Brian also touched on the Rugby Championship and the odds of it going ahead with South Africa included, or whether it would be another Tri-Nations Competition like last year due to Covid-19 restrictions, with Argentina, Australia and New Zealand battling it out.
