Brian Gentil caught up with Rudy Sas on Tuesday morning with another Gold FM Football Report with Carters Contractors.
There were plenty of results to go through and they started with a look at the two Waihi sides games in the first round of the Waikato Knockout Competition. Unfortunately Rudi had to report a couple of losses, with both sides short of players and down to the bare 11 on the field for their matches.
The Senior Reserves lost to Northern United Humblebees 6 - 2 away, while the Senior Waihi side played at home against Claudelands Rovers Wallies, with a final score of 5 - 0. Both teams go into the Plate Competition and Rudi says the draw will come out soon with games in June.
Brian and Rudy had a chat about the Wellington Phoenix and their good win 2 - 1 against Adelaide United, moving them up to 7th on the table.
Rudy and Brian talked about the good form of All White striker Chris Wood, scoring a hat trick and assisting in the other goal in Burnley’s 4 - 0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
And then they looked at the English Premier League games across the weekend, and wrapped up with the eighth League Cup win for Manchester City, beating Tottenham Hotspurs 1 - 0 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
