A little bit of Paeroa has made its way to Thomas and Walala Tjapaltjarri (Australian brothers from the Pintupi Nine).
The two brothers visited Paeroa in 2019 for an exclusive exhibition of Erritja Gallery art at the Paeroa Society of Arts Gallery.
Thomas and Walala brought with them some of their wonderful indigenous Australian art and that of other artists including, Gracie Morton, Polly Ngale, Gloria Petyarre, Marlene Young and Betty Mbitjana all internationally renowned artists.
It was an unforgettable experience for Thomas and Walala to be in a plane and visit another country.
As well as demonstrating their indigenous art style during the visit, the brothers also had the opportunity to experience a small part of our culture.
Barbara Wheater and the Paeroa Society of Arts provided a warm welcome for the brothers and their support team. Thomas and Walala were delighted to receive the pottery game made for them by Barbara Wheater, along with the small bowl she taught them to make while they were in Paeroa.
