Brian Gentil asked Nigel Neame about his legs when he spoke with him about a fundraiser Nigel is supporting.
The question about Nigel’s legs related to the training he’s doing to run 100 kms (26 laps) around the Waihi Pit Rim to highlight a fundraiser for the Waihi College Year 7 and Year 8 Girls Basketball Aims Team.
Nigel’s daughter and several of her friends play in the team so Nigel is trying to do his bit to help them out.
Being a keen runner Nigel was thrown the challenge from a couple of motivated team mums so Nigel will be pulling on his running shoes for a big one on Saturday the 31st of July.
The Aims Sports Event is coming up in Tauranga in September. It runs from the 4th to the 10th and all funds raised will help to cover uniforms, travel, accommodation and Nigel said it would be great to have a little left over to make it something the team will really remember.
A Give A Little Page has been started and is doing well but every little bit helps.
Nigel is going to run the 100 kms all in one go, starting early in the morning on Saturday, July 31st. Supporters are welcome to run alongside and join in to run a few laps.
Nigel said he’ll be starting from the PumpHouse and they’ll have a support crew there if anyone wants to head along and make a donation on the day.
Brian suggested that any businesses or people who want to make a donation for every lap run could make a pledge and donate through the givealittle page too. All donations greatly appreciated!
