The Gold FM Football Report with Carters Contractors started with Brian Gentil asking Rudy Sas from Waihi Association Football Club if he had an early start today, with his favourite team playing at 3 o’clock this morning. The answer was yes, and Rudy also said how nice it is at the moment with the early morning sounds being birds rather than traffic and industry while we are at Alert Level 4.
Brian and Rudy looked at the latest news from Waikato Secondary school Football Association and New Zealand Football, with no play as yet, even at Alert Level 3 Rudy said.
The results from the games played over the weekend in the English Premier League were next. Manchester United won, with a goal in the 80th minute Rudy said, against Wolves, or Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Rudy said there were a lot of draws, and he wasn’t wrong, with Liverpool drawing 1 all, the same as Burnley and Leeds, and Aston Villa and Brentford.
It was 2 - 2 between West Ham and Crystal Palace as well as Newcastle and Southampton. Manchester City had an awesome result against a 10-man Arsenal winning 5 - 0.
And our previous football reporter Brent Willoughby rang Brian Gentil just before the Football Report to mention his favourite side Tottenham Hotspurs was top of the table after their 1 nil win at home against Watford. We got the message Brent, and your other favourite team ‘Brent’ford didn’t do too badly either!
