On the Gold FM Football Report with Carters Contractors Brian Gentil asked Rudy Sas from Waihi Association Football Club what the situation will be for local football once we get down to Alert Level 2. Rudy is hoping we’ll get to see the end of season games played but that’s in the hands of NZF and WaiBoP. Brian mentioned that if the season ends now then Waihi’s senior side will be the winners of their league, as they are currently at the top of the table.

Some World Cup qualifying games were played over the weekend and Rudy brought us up to date with those games, as well as some coming up soon.

Brian asked Rudy to explain the situation with Christiano Ronaldo and the number 7 jersey saga, something that has created sales of millions of dollars in merchandise for Manchester United.

Rudy ran through some fixtures that were being played as the Gold FM Football Report was on as well as some coming up in the World Cup.

Brian asked Rudy about the traditional Labour weekend two day Tournament and the likelihood of that happening. Rudy is pretty confident it will go ahead. The interest from the teams is there and it just depends on what alert level we are at.

To end the report Brain got an update on Rudy’s son Mason, who is due to play in a big national under 19 tournament in Napier over Labour Weekend.
