The Gold FM Rugby Report with Harcourts Gold Star on Friday morning started with Brian Gentil asking Scott Day from Thames Valley RFU about the announcement that international rugby players like Pacific Island players will be allowed to switch national teams from next year, subject to certain criteria. Scott sees this as a great move.

This week saw Super Rugby squads announced and Brian asked Scott about any key signings he’d heard about.

Brian and Scott talked about the World 7’s Tournament this weekend in Dubai, where the New Zealand Women and Men won’t be competing due to Covid restrictions.

Scott and Brian touched on the preferred Rugby World Cup future venues and how it’s looking promising for England to host the 2023 Women’s Tournament and Australia the 2027 Men’s Tournament as the preferred candidates. New Zealand is hosting the postponed Women’s World Cup next year, with the men in France in 2023.

Brian asked Scott for an update on Thames Valley 100 year Celebrations next year with some great events planned for the 26th to 28th of August.

And Scott and Brian also checked out the newly released ‘shadow’ draw for the Thames Valley Swampfoxes in 2022 with Scott running through the home and away games with no times or venues in place yet.
