With a representation review looming is it time for electors in the Hauraki district to consider community boards?

According to Local Government NZ the strength of community boards is their connection to neighbourhoods and their ability to bring decision-making down to a level where citizens can have real influence. 
Thames Coromandel, Western Bay, Waikato, Waipa, Taupo, Otorohanga District Councils and a plethora of other councils (110) operate community boards – so why not the Hauraki District?

We'll be exploring the options as we get closer to public consultation on the Hauraki District representation review. We'll talk to community board members about their role and offer food for thought on how local people can become more involved in democracy and local issues to make a difference.
