Gold FM Rugby Report with Harcourts Gold Star Real Estate
Marcus Howie, the Thames Valley RFU Rugby Development Officer, was busy in Levin with the Thames Valley Under 16 team this week and brought us up to date with their game against Horowhenua Kapiti, which unfortunately they lost 12 – 8.
In Ruatoria Thames Valley Under 18’s came out winners against East Coast and Marcus gave us a rundown of their 19 – 10 win.
Marcus also wanted to clear up his allegiance to the Wairarapa, after the Waikato and Thames Valley of course. Matt Abraham filled in last Monday and mentioned this, only to be heard on a fishing vessel off the Coromandel Coast listening to Gold FM. The txt went through to shore and word got back to Marcus, who reassured us he’s backing the local boys first and foremost.
Then it was on to the Heartland Competition with a focus on the Thames Valley Swampfoxes home game at Paeroa Domain against East Coast tomorrow.
After running through the other games they had a look at all the Premiership and Championship games across the country, including Thursday night’s game between Wellington and Counties Manukau in Wellington, which was won 31 – 25 by the home side. Waikato plays North Harbour away after their draw against Auckland last weekend.
Then it was on to the All Blacks last test on home turf this year, playing Tonga in Hamilton on Saturday night before heading off to the World Cup in Japan. Marcus says the AB’s are in for a big win.
