Gold FM Rugby Report with Harcourts Gold Star Real Estate

Posted 9 September 2019 by Gold FM in Sports and Podcasts

Marcus Howie, the Thames Valley RFU Rugby Development Officer, kicked off a busy report with the news that due to the measles epidemic in Auckland, the Counties Manukau Under 13 and Under 15 teams would not travel to play the Thames Valley Under 14’s and 16’s respectively ... and fair enough.

Then he went through the Under 45 kg’s game against Western Bay and the Under 18’s match playing Waikato Harelequins. Marcus gave us an update of the Development Team’s game against King Country, which they won 24 – 13.

Brian Gentil and Marcus ran through all the results of the Heartland Competition, including the impressive win to the Thames Valley Swampfoxes against East Coast, 43 – 15.

From there they concentrated on the Premiership and Championship games across the country that saw Waikato go down to North Harbour away 38 – 36, and Bay of Plenty at home also losing, 16 – 15 to Wellington.

The All Blacks game against Tonga was put under the spotlight too, with their impressive 92 – 7 win for their last international match on home ground for this year.
