Netball news worth sharing

Posted 14 August 2019 by Gold FM in Sports and Podcasts

Jennifer Chappel has contributed to netball in the district for many years and shared some great news with Brian about the results earned by Waihi in the Thames Valley Netball Finals last Friday.

Three Waihi teams made the finals:
Waihi Athletic took out the Premier Grade Championship with a convincing win over McLarens.
Mana Wahine posted an 8 goal win over Hauraki Plains College A in the A Reserve grade.
Petra McCowatt took home the Diane McIntyre Memorial Cup for Most Outstanding Player in the Premier Grade. Jennifer described it as a deserving for Petra's commitment.
Paeroa United, who are affiliated with Waihi, came runner up after a close game to Playaz in the Premier Reserve Grade.

Waihi umpires Cathy Johnson and Paisley Gray had the pleasure of umpiring finals in the competition.

Congratulations to Petra, all of the participating teams, the umpires, managers and a big thumbs up to all the supporters.
