Palms stolen from Waihi Beach property

Posted 11 March 2019 by Gold FM in Environmental

The owners of a Waihi Beach property are disappointed and concerned that someone went onto their property last Wednesday and stole four Phoenix roebelenii (dwarf date palms) from a very private area of their back garden.

The palms have been maintained for two and a half years and were about a metre high.

The owners are concerned about the intrusion and that whoever took the plants seemed to target them and know where they were.

If you or anyone you know is offered Phoenix robellini palms or you notice these metre high palms turn up where they weren't before please contact the Waihi Police who have been notified about the theft.
