Posted 14 August 2019 by Gold FM in Council Matters

So far only one person has registered their nomination to become Mayor of the Hauraki District. If no one else stands an election for Mayor will not be required and the current nominee will become your Mayor.

Four councillor nominations have been received for the Plains Ward.

Six nominations have been received for the Paeroa Ward.

And so far four nominations are in for the Waihi Ward.

The Plains and Paeroa are able to have four councillors while Waihi is now entitled to five representatives.

You could be a Mayor or a Councillor. Nominations for candidates close at noon this Friday, 16 August.

If you've been thinking about it, don't leave it too late to get your nomination into Hauraki District Council.

Brian Gentil will be talking to Langley Cavers, CEO of the Hauraki District Council tomorrow morning in the Gold FM Breakfast Show at 8.15 am. Tune in to hear what Langley has to say about being a representative for your district.
