It's always a huge pleasure to speak with Shona Laing so when she got in touch to ask if we'd heard the remake of her (Glad I'm) Not a Kennedy hit we couldn't resist the opportunity to get her into the studio for a chat about it.

Christchurch born Dudley Benson is a composer, producer and performer living in Dunedin. As an eleven-year-old he was the soloist of the Christchurch Cathedral choir. In 2014 he won an Arts Foundation of New Zealand New Generation Award and he's released two albums, three EPs, a double live album, remix album, performed two New Zealand tours and toured Japan in 2012.

Dudley's latest single is an interpretation of Shona Laing's song (Glad I'm) Not a Kennedy. Dudley has also produced a video to accompany the song, a collaboration with Nom*d, Olveston House, and director of photography Phoebe Lysbeth Kay.

The song was recorded with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra during the sessions for Dudley's next album, Zealandia.
